Last Diary of a Torch Singer, is a simple musical work, that is a perfect blend of R&B, jazz, soul, folk, rock, and of sounds reminiscent of chic forties nightclubs to the alternative sound of modern day rock.
Last Diary of a Torch Singer was co-written by Robin and Kevin Brennan. And for a debut CD the duo have managed to do what many indy bands have tried but failed, and that is create an album that has diverse musical pieces, and have the sound and lyrics compliment one another so nicely.
The duo's talent is apparent in tracks like Swing Low, which uses lyrics and music from the gospel classic Amazing Grace, to create a funky, soulful, spiritual adaptation, which is a great compliment to the original piece. While Not Gonna Love, is a definite radio hit. This love song is a refreshing tune of hurt, love, and mending a heart.
Now that you've walked into my life,     This song, if given a chance, would certainly become a most requested hit.
I do believe with proper positioning and backing Robin could become a huge adult contemporary artist. Her voice is refreshing yet contains a classic sound that has nearly been lost in radio hits.
