New Jersey native MC Kamal, a.k.a. Rodney Jackson, is a self stylized triple threat-rapper, actor, entrepreneur, who wants to groove the world with his style of Hip Hop. Kamal's most recent music project
Suburbia presented a collage of Hip Hop styles that reflect the entire history of rap. Ranging from classic, to gangster, right into the modern day Bling Bling, Suburbia, is an interesting musical undertaking for Kamal and prospective fans.
The strength of the Suburbia album lied solely in Kamal's vocals and gritty rhyme delivery that was a perfect mix of classic and contemporary flows, reminiscent of 90s star Tone Loc. The 18-track Suburbia was comparatively standard project in regards to the albums lyrical content and choice of beats. However, the overall production on the album was mediocre. On many of the tracks Kamal's flow did not keep up or was too far behind key beat patterns that would have enhanced the songs. There was an obvious need for master producers and engineering talent to tighten Suburbia's overall feel.
Nevertheless Kamal cannot be written off as another wannabe artist, his trademark delivery style is enough to warrant valid attention from industry folk and hip hop fans alike. In addition Suburbia does have several tracks that at the mercy and blessings of the right people could be monster hits.
