Brooklyn native Golly Gee is hoping to startle the Hip Hop scene with his stylized Profane Free lyrics. Golly Gee's goal is to provide
music to those who want music that expresses life without violent and degrading sentence enhancers (a.k.a. Curses).
However, do not be fooled by the lack of profanity in Golly Gee's music, he is not a man on a soapbox, his music still reflects the contemporary Bling Bling sound mainstream music lovers adore:
Hey slave wait a cotton pickin' minute I wanna to be the owner and not the tenant…and you can give your rent straight to me…I want assets and not liabilities…me being a slave you kiddin' me…You got paper you get respected-Get the Cash
The two tracks featured on Golly Gee's demo, Get the Cash and Toxic include fantastic beats that are in tune to what is expected from a bona fide mainstream act. Unfortunately the vocal timing on both tracks was weak, and often times Golly Gee's lyrics were ahead of the music resulting in a mediocre debut.
The production quality of this demo did nothing to set Golly Gee apart from the umpteenth million Hip Hop artists seeking fame and fortune. Golly Gee has all the superficial qualities of a hit artist: A catchy name, a cool marketing gimmick (Profane Free Lyrics), and an eye on his target audience. The only aspect missing from this demo is a quality sound worthy of parting with one's hard-earned cash. Golly Gee's first priority in preparing for his full CD is to connect with a producer(s) who will display the passion he has for his craft.
