THIN SHOES IN JUNE - COPYRIGHT AFRICAN DOPE RECORDS ALL RIGHTS RESERVED     After reading the review for Felix Laband's 4/4 Down the Stairs, I found myself intrigued. So when I had the chance to review their latest CD I was pleased to take the venture, and thankfully Felix LaBand lives up to their name!

Normally, I can't listen to a CD, mostly full of instrumentals, because it usually bores me to tears, but thankfully, Felix Laband intertwine some vocals here and there that kept my interest long enough to realize that this band deserves some props for their music and the beats.

Thin Shoes in June is both ass kicking and soothing. There are kick ass beats, as well as a mellow sound, the kind you can just lie back to, relax, think and use for inspiration. It makes you just reflect about things and daydream as the beats mellow you out and pump you up at the same time; it's like the equivalent of mixing depressants with weed--not that I would know anything about that.

What I do know is talent and I can recognize it when I hear it. These guys certainly have a unique sound that I would love to see used on mainstream records. Hip Hop artists should take note; incorporating these beats to your music, will step up your game and create the next big sound, music listeners enjoy.

Other tracks that stood out were Under the Carpet, which kicks off with a girl breathing rhythmically creating a sexually surreal beat. Squeaky Toys has a cool jazz sound, while Single Light is very comforting and Cat on the Fence is inspiring.

Felix Laband does have what it takes. Pop the CD in, listen to the music, nod your heard, catch the vibe, feel the beat.
