Atomic Kitten--Jenny Frost, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon Self-Titled CD - COPYRIGHT VIRGIN RECORDS ALL RIGHTS RESERVED     Another British invasion is upon us. First, the Beatles, then the Spice Girls and now from the UK with love, Atomic Kitten has landed on American shores bringing back a style of music we haven’t heard in many years.

You may have heard Atomic Kitten recently with their updated take on the Blondie classic; Tide is High (Get the Feeling). This wonderfully produced remake is a perfect song for the trio of Jenny Frost, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon. The breezy voice stylings, perfectly blended harmony (they sound like one person) and sleek production of this one song filters down into the rest of the CD’s tracks, on the group’s self-titled debut.

Already a hit in the UK, where most of their songs find their way to number one, this great new pop group is about to take a hold of American audiences with a form of pop we thought went out with the 80’s and early 90’s.

A cross between Wilson Phillips and their fellow British singers, All Saints, Atomic Kitten certainly has a future in this business. Young, sexy, vibrant and fun, these girls translate their gifts into one great track after the next. What makes these songs so good is the fact that they are just fun to listen to. Atomic Kitten gives fans feel-good music, that puts a smile on your face and is easy to sing along with!

Some of the best tracks, besides Tide is High are Feels So Good, written by Kylie Minogue, the mellow, Love Doesn’t Have to Hurt and another remake; this time, The BanglesEternal Flame, which comes with a completely different musical arrangement that adds some new life to an already legendary song.

The two standout tracks are Whole Again, which will make you understand why they are #1 in the UK and the somber Last Goodbye, which is just a nice song, with a smooth melody, beautiful harmony and a great chorus. Ain't no hamlet on the road tonight/Ain't nobody here to make you cry/Cause we couldn't seem to find a way for love to stay/If you had another night to give/I would have another night to live/But you never gonna see me cry the last goodbye.

Despite the song’s title, I hope this is not goodbye, but a nice introduction and hello to a radio friendly group that if given time, will grow and flourish into something special and memorable for some time to come. “It’s going to be hard work,” Jenny declares, “and it’s going to be a challenge, but we’re totally up for it. When it comes down to great music, hard work and determination, we’ve got all three. I think we’ve got a really good chance, you know?” Think positive and things happen.” They will.
