Do you like dance music? Are you into the retro scene? Then New Devotion by Paradox is just the album for you. I was given the opportunity to sample some songs from the album and I must say that I really liked it. Always a fan of the retro/dance genre, I found the beats to be just what the doctor ordered.
Paradox is a trio from Perth, Australia – Lissa, Pascal, and Ralph. They specialize in techno, euro-dance music. The actual album is 14 tracks long and spans 54 minutes.
I listened to this demo on the way to and from work and was enthralled in the music. Some of the lyrics need work, but not too much work. But it’s not the lyrics that grab you on this demo, it’s the music! I found myself *cough*speeding*cough*, bopping my head to the awesome beats found in songs such as Romantic and Retro’bution. The demo got me pumped to go to work, and kept me awake on the long, dreary drive home.
I would love to hear this album in its entirety. I’m sure the rest of the tracks would be just as enjoyable as the five I was allowed to sample. I can definitely see some of these tracks being used in dance clubs and at parties. These tracks are especially fitting for movie soundtracks such as Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider, which were chock-full of the techno genre. This is an album you should definitely check out!
