knows who Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and Peppermint Patty are! They're characters from the infamous comic strip Peanuts. Peanuts is a comic strip that has been followed in countless newspapers, books, and television shows worldwide. But how many of us know the man behind the comic strip, Charles Schultz? Charles M. Schultz: Conversations, Edited by M. Thomas Inge gives fans insight on the most famous cartoonist that ever lived..
     Charles M. Schulz: Conversations begins with a brief chronology of Schulz's life. Readers are further treated to a series of interviews with Schulz dating back to 1956! I say treated because I was pleasantly surprised by the content of these interviews. I had expected to read a boring repetition of questions and answers detailing things we already knew about Peanuts. However, I was happy to discover that each interview was a new and interesting look into Shulz's insights on life and the world over a 40-year period.

     Of course, you can't read 18 interviews without some repetition, but you barely notice with such interesting information and views at your disposal. I truly enjoyed reading this book. An added plus were the comic inserts that I loved reading as a kid. Charles M. Schulz: Conversations was wonderful reading about the man who had such a profound effect on American and global popular culture. This book is one in a series of novels called Conversations With Comic Artists. After reading Charles M. Schulz: Conversations, I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
