Buffy the Vampire Slayer is probably one of my favorite shows on television. Besides wrestling, it is the only other show I need to see every week. Surprisingly, only recently has anyone decided to design videogames based on this hit show. While, THQ got it all wrong with their Game Boy Color version, EA picked up the ball brought a true representation of Buffy to the videogame world via the X-Box.

Presentation 10 out of 10: Thirteen massive levels, including an awesome tutorial mode, brought the town of Sunnydale to life. All the characters; Buffy, Willow, Xander, Cordelia, Angel, Spike and even Giles are all there, in fact, this game qualifies as a missing episode taking place in season three with lots of references to past shows.

Graphics: 8 out of 10: The game looks great. The characters are detailed, like they came straight from your television set. The backgrounds are dark, moody and creepy, but at the same time, beautiful. However, slowdowns hurt the game along with jagged graphics keep this game from being perfect. Still, you get to see those facial expressions from Giles and Buffy.

Sound: 10 out of 10: With the exception of Buffy a.k.a. Sarah Michelle Gellar, all of the actors provided their virtual counterparts with sound. The creepy thing was Gellar's voice replacement sounded so much like her, so she was not missed. Another cool feature was the awesome dialogue heard in mid action making witty quips while staking blood-thirsty beasts.

Gameplay: 10 out of 10: This game is awesome. Not only are there great characters but a great story elements and awesome fight scenes. Buffy relies on punches and kicks and a lot of cool combos (something Dead to Rights really lacked) to subdue the enemy before staking them in the heart. One of the best things about the game is that the difficulty level fluctuates like a bell curve. The game slowly increases in difficulty, from fighting one vampire to several at a time. This allows gamers to enjoy much of the game without going crazy over levels too difficult to enjoy. This game was fun, entertaining and difficult. Buffy breaks the rules. Buffy encounters bosses in mid-level and before you can kill some of them, they retreat to come back later in the game harder than before. So, our favorite bad guy, Spike, has more than a cameo.

Replay value: 8 out of 10: If you love Buffy, you will play this game again and again.

Overall: This game is the best. How good? A friend who made fun of me for watching the show played the game and then bought the entire first season on DVD. The answer is obvious. Buy this game.
