Freedom Force

By: Badseed

PC games are the best and right now, and Freedom Force is my new favorite game! I have never had so much fun playing a game! Though I have not beaten the game, I am enjoying every attempt.

Freedom Force is the first game of its kind for the PC and the first Role Playing Game (RPG) that I have actually enjoyed. A throwback to the older days of comic books with corny clichés, stereotypical characters and hilarious and ironic writing, you star as Minute Man, a hero looking to stop the Commie bastards. As you go on into the game you earn Prestige Points for completing primary and secondary objectives. These Prestige Points help you recruit new members to for the Freedom Force. Along the way you increase your powers and strength and gain new powers to combat your enemies. Together, you and your Super Friends have to destroy thugs, robots, monsters and aliens to save the world.

This is a unique game; not too flashy and very funny in a corny type of way. The RPG style menu, selection action method, the ability to control four people on the screen at the same time, and the perfect 60’s style storyline instantly make this game a classic.

What could be better than controlling your own superhero team? How about creating your own superheroes and having them help Minute Man and compete in multiplayer action over the Internet? How about downloading copies of Spiderman, Batman, Wolverine and all your favorite heroes from the DC, Marvel and Image? This is reason enough to buy the game, but there are others.

Graphics: 9 out of 10 For this game, the graphics are perfect. They do not have 1000’s of polygons that create a world like Half-Life or Halo. There are even some glitches in the graphics as the characters merge into buildings. However the game looks awesome! Cars drive through and you better avoid them, everything from light poles to those same cars can be lifted and thrown.

Sound: 8 out of 10The voice acting is funny and hearing, For Freedom as I hit an innocent civilian or statue is priceless. I enjoy the interactions and the corny dialogue.

Gameplay: 10 out of 10 This game is complex, but not too hard that it becomes a chore to play. A linear finite world, you are pretty much led to where the action is and that is where the fun is. Avoid some guards beat up some thugs and save the world. The controls are simple and the game is just a whole lot of fun to play. There is just no reason not to pick this game up.

Replay value: Duh! You can play online and you can play as your favorite superhero creations. This is all in addition to the great story you have to get through. I am talking about hours and hours of fun. Of course it gets a 10.

Overall: 9 out of 10 There is always room for improvement, but this game is as close to perfect as you can get and with add-ons in the future and a sequel surely in the works so perfection is just around the corner. Run, don’t walk; in fact, fly to your newest videogame store and pick up this awesome game. Do it for Freedom, for Justice!
