Tez and Tajiee

By: Blackhart

Right now, one of my favorite rap artists is Fabolous. The guy has put together some awesome songs with killer hooks. However, they shove this guy down our throats and every second on the radio, the television is playing one of his videos and some artist has decided to put him in an unnecessary remix. Over saturation such as this has left me looking to the independent scene where I have found two future stars from San Diego and their names are Tez and Tajiee.

This west coast duo brings a style that incorporates east coast underground, the dirty south, and west coast gangsta to playa-style rap. Tez and Tajiee bring all these styles together in a fast paced tongue lashing that combines Tez's hot lyrics with Taijee's cocky rhymes to bring a four-track CD that is better than full CDs I hear from the so-called Kings of Rap.

The rap duo, which I like to think of as the next Fabolous and Jadakiss, are already being recognized by the music industry. The west coast duo has been featured on the HBO TV series soundtrack for OZ and a compilation soundtrack of West Coast Greats called MVPs. The duo's skill truly shows that are ready for the mainstream radio. Now, they are going out on their own and have released a killer CD to showcase their talents. And these guys are talented. They just need someone to take notice. Well YBFREE.com has and we take a look at the CD that is just the beginning of something bigger.

Track one, AHH, is a sexy song highlighting the bling bling style of rap-money and girls. I enjoyed the beginning of this song the best.

When your day begins/Just before you start breathing/Instead of a plain wall/Your looking at cleavage/While you're brushing your teeth/You're rubbing and squeezing/Instead of four-eggs/You get forehead.

Cool! The songs just get better with Damn Thang borrowing a little from Snoop Dogg (I got bitches in the living room getting it on...), a true sign of future stardom.

Then the third track, Wit Me, lets someone's significant other know that it doesn't matter what they do, where they come from and who they are, they should remember who they came with.

Hold your tongue/because you came wit me/Show your funds because you came with me/slow your gums because you know the one/You catch a blow or some, because you came with me.

The final track, a quick snippet of music, brings it all home with a whole different style of rap as Tez and Tajiee rip through a track with some old school rap that moves quicker than the beat behind it. Awesome. There does not seem to be a style that these guys can't match.

Tez and Tajiee are the next big rap act and I guarantee after listening to their tight production (thanks to DJ Fingaz), killer flow and eclectic style, you will be hooked. They make mainstream music fun again.
