This is the first time Country Music has actually been featured in YBFREE.com- A rare occurrence that might not happen for a long time, unless more bands like Alcohol come along. Alcohol's brand of Country and Rock has made a believer that best days of country crossovers didn't die in the 80s.
Grain contains six tracks each solid and fluid. The level of music presented on this CD is rare on an independent CD promotion. From the very beginning with the track On My Mind, I was hooked. The song was catchy it perfectly intertwined the traditional country rhythms and beats in addition to some righteous rock. I can honestly say that all five tracks on this LP are radio worthy on any modern Country and Adult Stations.
If you don't believe this Indy Zine's hype, then believe the mainstream industry hype that has certified Alcohol's unprecedented sound. It is no surprise that MTV chose to use Alcohol's music several MTV series including Undressed, Making The Video: Metallica, and Making The Video: No Doubt. The group is also working on deals with ESPN 1 and 2 and the Surf Channel Television Network.
But what is a surprise is these down home boys are a good ol' New York City based band. Garth Brooks better watch out, he may be dethroned as the king of country. Because Alcohol is country gone popular.
