Two up Faust and Shortee Logo Copyright Faust and Shorteeand coming DJs are starting to turn the world on its ear with their sound. This couple is nothing short of dynamic and together they perform some killer tracks that even had this stiff ass moving his body to the beats. I like the fact that one of these DJs is a woman named Shortee. We need more female DJs hitting things up at the clubs and getting people on the dance floor. By herself, she is awesome together with the equally inspiring DJ Faust, Faust and Shortee are awe-inspiring. They really work well together and you could never tell from listening to their CD that there were two people working together, it was as if they were truly one in spirit.

What makes this duo cool is that they are partners outside of the music world. After a month-long courtship on Virginia, these two started living together and Faust introduced Shortee, a percussionist, to the wonderful world of turntables. Knowing each other so well, the two put together a flawless performance that never misses a beat. It's as if they know everything they are going to do before they do it. When one pauses, the other fills right in, connecting immediately with the previous sounds making for one seamless beat and some hard hitting sounds. Faust and Shortee got it going on combining rock and hip-hop with jazz, funk, soul and dance.

Now, I listened to both DJs separately and I have to say I really liked them apart as well as together. DJ Faust's CD entitled Inward Journeys contained some killer sounds to symbolize the four elements Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth. You really get a sense of Faust's hip-hop style on these tracks and songs like Rock Da House and Voices in My Head. One of my favorite tracks was the Faust and Shortee collaboration called Boy Meets Girl. Shortee returns the favor on her solo CD in a collaboration with Faust called Girl Meets Boy.

Shortee's solo CD The Dreamer and equally as good as Faust's Inward Journeys. Her music is set up into the Four Stages of REM sleep. Her dreams become vivid songs that translate into killer beats and some entertaining lyrics playing through them. They were mellow and bumping. It is very rare that I take new artists so fast, but the two were so good they sold me lock, stock, and barrel.

Needless to say I was not surprised how well these two artists work together on their joint effort, Dream Theory. This CD really got me moving in my seat and I found it very hard to write the article because I kept wanting to dance. My girl walked in the room and without missing a beat, she was getting into the music, shaking her body, and dancing like I have never seen her dance before. She then proceeded to ask for the CDs. She will be lucky if I allow her to borrow them, let alone keep them. These babies are mine and if you want a listen to them, too, I urge you to go get purchase them, too.
